How Solar PV Works

Simmark's photovoltaic systems convert sunlight directly into electricity via solar panel arrays mounted on the roof. They work any time the sun is shining, helping to reduce electricity bills, greenhouse gas emissions and assisting each household's contribution to reducing climate change. Excess solar electricity from your solar panel can be fed back into the grid which effectively makes your electricity meter run backwards and saves you money. Many states have "feed in tariffs" which pay you multiple credits for each unit of electricity fed into the grid from your solar system.

Simmark's Quality

Simmark uses only advanced and proven manufacturing processes for each of its solar panel arrays. This ensures we deliver only the very best and efficient mono-crystalline panels, inverters, mounting racks and cabling. All our panels meet strict international guidelines, are IEC 61215 accredited and our installers are CEC licensed. With accreditations and membership with all recognised industry bodies and partnerships, both locally and globally, Simmark in partnership with BP Solar are the credible name in residential solar power that delivers with consistency and integrity. Once you've submitted the information on the 'Request a Quote' form, one of our sales staff will call you directly to discuss detailed system options and prices specific to your home.

When you are ready to go ahead with buying a system, your BP Solar Dealer will visit your home and assess:

Your roof - to determine exact orientation, pitch, shading, type and overall condition

The sunlight access and intensity for your location - to determine the exact path of the sun over your home,

to calculate solar potential for your area.

Your electricity needs - to determine the right system size for your home

BP Solar is committed to bringing cost effective, solar power solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications to the world. BP Solar has been producing quality solar panels for over 25 years.

PANELS

Eco Factor: New products designed to help solar modules generate more output to be made available.

Generating renewable energy using solar panels would definitely reduce your carbon footprint. However, the reduction shows its effects on your pocket because firstly the panels are expensive and secondly their output isn’t as much as you would really want. BP Solar is trying to reduce the cost of solar energy not by making the panels cheap, but by developing devices which increase the output of the panels and reduce losses commonly associated with PV arrays. The company has announced a partnership with SolarEdge to develop products that help PV modules become effective and efficient.

The company states that losses due to problems such as shading, dust and a problem in any one panel in an array accounts to a total power reduction of as much as 20%. While solar companies have not succeeded in reducing the cost of panels by much, reducing these losses seems the need of the hour. The team is expected to soon test new products that should help reduce the cost of solar energy by making the panels more efficient.

SMA

Grid-Tied Inverters

Harness the energy of the sun - with a solar inverter from SMA. They convert the direct current generated by the solar module into grid-acceptable alternating current. Thus they form the heart of every solar energy system.

As market leader for solar inverters SMA is setting benchmarks again and again: leading-edge efficiencies of 98 % and new technology ensures maximum yields and the highest user convenience.

We offer you the right device for each application: for all module types, for grid-connection and feeding into stand-alone grids, for small house systems and commercial systems in the Megawatt range.

For small and mid-range systems

The Sunny Boy solar inverters characterize the technology and quality leadership of our company. They are optimally suitable for use in small and mid-range systems. They impress with first class efficiency, user-friendliness and reliability. The Sunny Boys have been repeatedly acclaimed - and are constantly developing. Our New Generation is equipped with innovative technologies such as OptiTrac and H5-Topology. These make the device even more efficient - and therefore ensure a very good solar yield.

If you were to ask your neighbors which inverter they use to control their solar power system, more often than not, the response would be, “a Sunny Boy from SMA”.  As the world’s leading manufacturer, SMA has the ideal inverter for any system configuration. Consult your local solar installer about the right SMA inverter for your system requirements.

High Efficiency – Maximum Energy Production

Whether for a single residence or a large commercial application – SMA sets the standards in quality, reliability and efficiency. For you that means maximum energy production – under all conditions.

Solar Data Communication

As the owner of a solar power system, you have invested in a progressive energy source and a long-term source of income. SMA offers leading edge communication products for monitoring the performance of your investment.

Applying for Federal Government rebates is easy and more rewarding than ever.

Under the Solar Credits scheme

Which took effect on 9 June 2009, draft Government legislation indicates eligible systems will be entitled to five-times multiplication of the Renewable Energy Certificates. The price customers will receive will be dependent upon a number of factors: the market price for the RECs (which can vary), the system size and the system’s location in Australia.

BP Solar is currently reviewing its Enviro-cashback offer to cater to the Solar Credits scheme. Information will be available on our website in coming weeks, we also encourage you to stay in touch with your BP Solar representative

Details on the Solar Credits scheme are still being finalised with the Federal Government to take the legislation to Parliament in mid-June 2009.

Applications sent on Tuesday 9 June 2009 will either be eligible for the previous Solar Homes and Communities Program rebate OR Solar Credits, not both.

More information about Solar Credits can be found here:

http://www.climatechange.gov.au/publications/index.html#renewable

For installations completed on or after 9 June 2009, customers may choose to apply for RECs under the current deeming arrangements (via programs such as the BP Solar Enviro-cashback)and apply later for the additional Solar Credits when invited by the ORER. Alternatively, they may choose to delay their application until the Solar Credits regulations are in place.
